Good Company and Safety

Daily writing prompt
What are the most important things needed to live a good life?

I really took the time to think about this after I read other peoples answers. Not too much time, but I picked my choices for a reason.

When I was single, I really enjoyed my own company. I found so much peace in hanging out by myself and doing my own hobbies, singing and playing piano and reading. And even though I am in the hustle and bustle of my masters, I had decided to start this blog, which oddly, I love. I reconnects me with silence and my thoughts. It slows me down, and it became a peaceful activity. It really brings me out of the loud tiktok space and I had no idea about this wordpress community. Everyone is so thoughtful and mindful about their emotions and life. It is really refreshing to see.

I loved my own time, but I did meet my husband. And my husband is good company. If you ask me why he loves me so much, I could not tell you at all. But I am so grateful to live such a colorful beautiful life with a man who is so kind of loving and always thinks about how to make me happy. We always make jokes and laugh and I love spending time with him.

I say company because you can be your own good company, but you have to like your own company. You have to be satisfied in your own silence and being alone, because at points of our life, being alone is almost a requirement, and it is a little dangerous to be dependent on other people needing to be present for you to be okay.

Second, is safety. Safety is everything when it comes to peace. Socially, emotionally, physically, and even in your own mind. Feeling like it is a safe place to grow, make mistakes, learn, be, and rest is vital to living a good life. If you don’t feel these things, which I know most of us don’t, start taking control of your life, make that journey, and make it happen. You have this one life, and it becomes what you make it to be. Yes, you were handed the cards that you were dealt, but accepting the nature of this unfair world is the first step to thriving.

I told my husband how I made a new introvert Christian friend. You! I hope you have as many good experiences as I’ve had over my 4 or 5 year tenure with WordPress. Have a Nice day!

I’m Elle

From being depressed and bed ridden to thriving in life with no example, I monitored and observed my own behavior, and essentially changed my life by tracking my thoughts and behaviors. This is what I learned.
